I came up with that blog name when I started working out of college. It seemed super witty, and I still hope it applies to me.

Instant Communication = Non-communication

Remember when you were in school and, somehow, you could crank out a 25 page essay “unpacking” gender themes or post-modern aesthetics or Soviet housing policy?  Doesn’t that seem, like, IMPOSSIBLE now? 

Take, for example, my recent summary of a 1 hour speech from a guest speaker at work:

“hillary is stupid cuz she didn’t listen to me, obama is so right now, he knows what youtube is, money is all that matters in politics, this has nothing to do with rubenstein but I will talk about campaign politics LOL”

Fleshing out thoughts has become a challenge.  Emails and gchats and text messages are the closest we get to putting out thoughts on paper.  We keep blogs but does anyone keep a diary? 

I will make a public resolution to post longer, better, smarter, and more researched blog posts.  They will include tinyurls and other “right now” features.  Maybe embed some of those YouTubes.
